Monterey*
UC Davis, United StatesThe variety is slightly stronger flowering than Albion*, with a similar production pattern. The plant is more vigorous and may require more space than Albion*. The fruits are large, firm, slightly carved and dark red. The taste is good with a distinct sweet aftertaste, something that does not occur often in California varieties. Monterey* is quite resistance to fungal diseases but can get mildew, so must be treated against it.
